Stremyannaya Street of St. Petersburg has retained its name unchanged since the 18th century, and was part of the Palace Suburb, in which the masters who served the royal court lived. The street is connected with the life of such famous people as Dostoevsky, Batyushkov, Yesenin, Barto, Zoshchenko, Turgenev, Goncharov and many others. Here were written "Hunter's Notes", "Poor People", "Ordinary History."
In the houses of the famous architects Lange and Fontana - the lawyer Koni lived and worked, who in 1878 acquitted Vera Zasulich, the eminent surgeon Sklifosofsky, publisher Soikin, who published the books of Darwin and Michurin, the collected works of Jules Verne, Dickens and Dumas; Baroness Korf, writer Slonimsky - member of the Serapion Brothers community, Schwartz, Chukovsky, Zoshchenko remained loud and significant names in history.
The opening date of the first exhibition of the club-museum - April 15 - is symbolic: on this day in 1926 in the theater-studio of the director Shimanovsky at Stremyannaya, 1 - the poetical evening of Sergei Yesenin was held, where it was "crowded, bright and noisy ...", as Shimanovsky himself wrote. And the day of April 15, 2010 really became a "crowded, bright and noisy" holiday for all lovers of the historical heritage of our city and high-quality hotel service. Alexei Musakin, CEO of Cronwell Development, and the Cronwell Inn Stremyannaya Hotel employees organized a real St. Petersburg-style party for their guests. In addition to the tour and acquaintance with the hotel, the program of the event included the signing of cooperation agreements of Ugra-Service Holding, the management company of the Cronwell brand, and the Peter and Paul Fortress Cultural and Educational Programs Foundation, the main goal of which is to promote the St. Petersburg cultural heritage. The official partner of the event was the Shampansky House Abrau-Durso, which treated the guests to its famous champagne, the quality of which was confirmed by numerous international medals and awards.
According to Dmitry Kolesnikov, a member of the board of directors of Ugra Service holding, one of the main goals of the museum is to create a kind of club of people related to Stremyannaya Street. The organizers want to unite around the club-museum of people who live and work today on Stremyannaya Street and are interested in its history. Such forms of urban communities are very common in European cities and make a significant contribution to the improvement and maintenance of urban space, taking into account the requirements for the preservation of cultural heritage. The museum will operate in the format of permanent exhibitions. The first exhibition of the museum is dedicated to the general history of Stremyannaya Street and outstanding people of the past era, who made a significant contribution to the development of Russian history and culture.
It is assumed at least four interchangeable exposures annually. The plans of the museum-club include the creation of exhibitions devoted to people and events that have become significant cultural symbols, both in the life of St. Petersburg and in Russia as a whole. It is planned that the closest themes of the exhibitions will be: literary Stremyannaya, the history of Leningrad rock, the history of "sovereign" people.
